newB 721 question

hi everyone,

after finally getting signal on both 110&119, i downloaded 23 items. i have d/p twin lnb. one line going to sat 1, one line going to sat 2. still can't get picture but i am close. at this stage of game can i hook up d/p quad so i can have same signal to both inputs. how far am i from being able to watch tv.

i'm still at aquiring signal. is that because i don't have proper signal to both input's.

No. There have been issues with a 721 taking an initial download from a DP Quad lnb. DO the d/l on the Twin. You say that you aren't getting both sats on both tuners? Can you post the results of your checkswitch?

i did get the download without the quad. i'm now stuck at aquiring sat signal. it even went as far as the screensaver. will post results of check switch and software version. should be l171 right?? it was lo54.

The current version is now L172, but if yours hasn't been working for a few days, you may still have L171. Also, please give us your dish config and other other receivers and switches you might have as well. Since you have a quad, do you have a second receiver, and is it working properly as well?

i'm going to give this another shot tomorrow. hopefully this will work. i do have a quad but only 1 receiver at the moment got quad because i needed 2 input's for721.
please tell me i'm close to watching t.v.

When all else fails with the switch checks and signals on a 721, the easiest thing to do is is to reset it to factory defaults and start over. This happened to me once (with sw64) and setting the factory defaults fixed my problem.

Go to "system setup" (menu 6), then select "factory default" (sub-menu 6). This pretty much clears everything so you will have to set-up all your favorites, locks and preferences again. Run a check switch afterwards and hopefully it gets you up and running.
