They used to give us a page with the changes made. Don't even do that anymore. I get nervous when they upgade my 7100, from past history something usually gets screwed up.

17000 looks like it changed the sirius music titles to not have a name like artist, music, etc... Title just hangs in the center.
DishPlayer (7100 and 7200) Receiver software version 1.24 changed the Sirius music titles.
I was told that Client sofware version 17000 has to do with security (and that is all I was told).
I think client V17000 was specifically designed to screw up MORE of my recordings. It interrupted the recording in progress.....

I have not seen anything new or different. My unit did falke out for a few days but I get that after every update. I used to hear that I was crazy to say that (and I amy be) but now others seem to report the same pattern. It does seem to have stablized now.
Hi Bill R. I was wondering how come you seam more upset at the pirates of dbs service than the rest of the people.

Some people just aren't as vocal as others. As many paying customers will tell you theft of service is wrong and it is costing the satellite vendors (and therefore the subscribers) a lot of money. And if you don't think that it is wrong there is nothing that I can say to you that will convince you that it is.

While I am not happy about pirates, apparently security was the key behind 1.24 and the 17000 client software as apparently 7x00 are supporting nagra 2
Stonecold,
What I heard is that they are "interim" releases (needed to support some changes that DISH is doing) and the software that fully supports nagra 2 on the 7100 and 7200s is still being worked on.
I have noticed that the "word" is getting around to the buyers on eBay that the DishPlayers aren't "ECM hit proof". Prices have really dropped and they are no long selling for $400+ as they were several months ago.

Bill, the 7x00s droped off ebay with in days of hte ecm hit.
Bill what i am wondering is why on channel 199 which has only shown up on one of my reciever it showing how to do the card swap on the 7x00 series. Though the unit that shows channel 199 is a 3900.
I have no idea. Maybe they just made a tape in preprepration for when the 7x00 owners will be sent the new cards. I haven't seen channel 199 show up on any of my receivers yet. I do know a couple of other model receiver owners that have got new cards.
Hey stone cold, you the dude on the irc networks too?
