Sorry, this is sort of a noob question. Thanks to anyone who is willing to answer.

I have a Dishplayer 7200 right now, but it's been sitting unused since I bought the new HDTV. I'd like to get a 921. Here's my question: will the dish and switch I currently have suffice for the 921 or do I need a new dish?Or do I need to point it somewhere else?

Moving to General Dish discussion forum.

Your current dish will work with the 921, although if you only have a Dish300, you'll definitely want to upgrade to at least a Dish500 so that you can see the 110 satellite because that's where most of the HD channels are. And the 921 requires 2 satellite inputs, so if you only have 1 line running from your switch to the location where the 921 will go, you will either have to run a second line (which may require another switch/different LNB for your dish) or pick up a DPP44 switch and DPP seperator which will separate one satellite line into two lines to feed both of the 921 tuners. And, if you're in an area where your local channels are on 105 or 121, you'll want to upgrade to a Superdish to see the 3rd satellite.

Mark: Note that with a 7200, he's probably got Legacy LNBFs. The DPP gear will not work with that of course.
