Question on DVR hard drives

I just wanted to know if anyone has tried to Ghost a DVR hard drive and put the image on a larger capacity hard drive. Is this possible? Unless there is something with the formatting, or a registration of the disk on the system that's hard-coded, it should be a workable thing. Then you can take these disks and swap them out for larger ones.
