Has anyone lately purchased a 522 off of Ebay and been able to get Dish to activate it? I have seen some of this discussion in 2003 threads but nothing lately.

It's NOT a good idea to try to buy a 522. The only legal retailer I've heard of is Radio Shack in some areas, but who knows for sure - this is E* after all.
Don't know why you can't find the recent threads - OH - maybe they're all over at satelliteguys.us
