When shall Tivo come out with HD DVR independent of Direct TV?..cannot get out of Dish Network due to their Int'l programming and like Tivo since it could be vendor independent....any news when this might happen? Benefits:

- Would boost their sales for sure
- Would also bring in competition in the much needed HD DVR market and
- Drive down prices..

They had a note on their website, last time I checked, stating they were looking for partners to bring one out.

It didn't sound like Tivo was going to do it themselves.

What TiVo really needs is a cable card ready box that does HDTV. That way they could get the digital cable channels without having to recompress them.

Not just cable card, but one that supports satellites too...my interest lies in is Dish Network and OTA Antenna feeds

If you mean E* satellite directly, it's never going to happen.

If you mean HD component input - that would be very nice.

Well, I mean I would love to be able to record HD Stuff coming from my OTA Antenna. Thats the most imp thing to me right now. Dish Network or not. The HD Tivo allows the recording from both Direct TV HD Channels and OTA channels?
