811 and PoP

I am looking for some information on how to do Picture Inside picture or picture outside picture (pretty much the same thing) with my 811. My dad is threatening to route the video through the vcr before the 811 :eek2: :nono2: to get 2 tuners...anyone have any other solutions? a splitter for cheap?

My experience with the 811 is it is a PITA to do PIP. It doesn't do it internally like the x2x receivers.

Also, I am not sure how your dad is gonna route through the VCR to the 811. I don't know of any vcr that descrambles dish signals.

You can buy a 2nd tuner and do that, but the VCR isn't a Satellite tuner, so it will do you no good for PIP.

If you are very hungry for a PIP feature, save up for a 921, or huntdown a 721 SD Only.
