Memory dump on a dish 501

Someone I work with is having problems with his 501 and would like to try the memory dump to see if it straightens up. His hard drive works because he can still pause and ff or rewind but nothing shows up on the recorded list even though he had programs recorded. He has already held the front power button to reboot and unplugged the unit to no avail. If someone knows the key sequence or has any other ideas please let me know.

On the phone test screen, you can hit info, right, left, and it will bring up a memory screen. I don't remember exactly what to do next tho.
