Theoretically, yes, if you qualify.

Caveats: E* uses 2 types of LNBF - Legacy and DishPro. I don't know what V* uses, but IF it's not the same, you can NOT mix them.

If V* is Legacy, and your E* is DishPro, you MUST reset your switch matrix before hooking it up or you run the risk of burning out the V* LNBF because DishPro uses higher voltages.

If you're trying to split the 61.5 and add it to an existing E* setup, again the Legacy vs. DishPro issue rears it's ugly head. Tell us everything about your E* setup and we can help you some more.

P.S. Any V* experts out there able to step in on this, please?

mrdectown, seperate from hardware....for programming on CBS-HD you must qualify to receive. If you are not in a DMA authorized to receive this station you must personally submit a waiver to the CBS affliates in your DMA...Call E* and find out which stations in your area you would have to request this from. This is not an impossible feat as many affliates are approving "CBS-HD Specific Waivers". I have the fax number for E*'s waiver submittal department if you need it.

oh and i did that when i first got dish. they sais since its brodcasted over the air i didnt need a waiver, which was true but OTA anntenna are really reliable goes in and out way to much . its like i find that spot and i will like 81% then(i kid you not this never fails) as soon as the high def program comes on it drops to like 49 thien back to 81 then 56 then 75. always when THE program i want to watch. so i was just hoping for it for more so reliablity

So what your saying if that you are in a DMA that qualifies for the New York CBS-HD feed? If this is the case then yes all you would have to do is call E* and asked then to hit your feed. And get your hardware in order as Simon was guiding you to do. A lot of people receive an OTA feed of CBS that simulcasts in HDTV...Just a friendly reminder that you need to live in a DMA that qualifies for L.A. CBS or NY CBS to get CBS-HD thru E* without a waiver.

Actually, I think the qualification for CBS-HD is a little different. Distant network qual probably works, but also IIRC, if you're in a DMA where the CBS affiliate is O&O by CBS, then they'll let you have the satellite HD feed. YMMV.
