Do NFL blackout rules apply to the NFL package on Sirius?

As far as my understanding go, they do not. This is becasue Sports Blackouts only occur within a specified radius of the sports facility which the game is being played in. I am not aware of the specific NFL policy on what the range is. Regardless, blackouts only apply to Television. You can always hear the game on the radio.

Furthermore, being that it is satellite radio, it would be hard for Sirus to have a radio blackout of a game as they dont necessarily know if you are going to be in that area or not (they could use billing, however as I said Radio doesnt have blackouts).

Also, sports blackouts are almost 100% TV blackouts. It's very rare that a radio broadcast of any game would be blacked out. (The only example I can think of is boxing.) The notion is that hearing a game on the radio is nowhere near as good as watching it, in person or on TV.

There is no capacity for SR to have market specific blackouts.

In any event, there is no way to enforce such a deal, since there is no way to know where the receiver actually is.
