i am currently a voom installer and need good and cheap installer supplies and tools. especially ongoing supplies such as cable and connectors. anyone recomend a good supplier or place to pick these up? thanks
you are going to have to ask other installers in your area about this. unfortunately, the shipping charges for a roll of cable would more than eat up any cost savings you may get from buying from a non-local supplier. The worst (most expensive) place seems to be Home Depot. Their price for coax was 3x the price of a satellite specialty shop near me.

what do you look for in the phone book for wholesale satellite places? this is a big city over 2.5 million i would think there would be at least a few places here

For tools and such, Utah Satellite or Bestway Satellite on Ebay (think they are one in the same), has decent prices and great service. I agree that shipping on cable would kill you, best to get it locally if possible. If your operation is big enough you might set up an account with Perfect 10 for cable and supplies. There are a few others if you do a google search.
I have yet to see a Voom system in operation but a girl I know just switched from them to Dish only after a short time with Voom. I do Dish installs but did not do hers. Maybe I'm glad because her installer was there at least two days for some reason.

DSI has 30 offices including a Kansas City location. 1-800-888-8876. I used to use them for just about everything before I moved to Florida.

DSI has always meant "don't stock it" to many dealers, who have posted on the dealers' board.
I prefer Perfect 10. They are not really perfect, but I've always got quick delivery and good prices.
We have had good luck with PAM Distributing in Tulsa, OK. Even with shipping, if you are buying enough, they have been cheaper than any local guys in Chicago.

Does anyone know where to get any all-brass, full 360-degree compression connectors for RG-6? Gilbert used to have them before they got pulled from the market for a patent infringement of some sort. I abhor the replacements Gilbert came out with - weak connections at best. I need to find something better and the all brass were the only decent compression connectors out there.
By the way, regarding Perfect-10, wire rolls shipping is free.
