View Full Version : Message on TIVO has not called in 31 Days

I have checked telephone connections and found them connected properly. One other time TIVO had a similar message. I have found it almost impossible to get through to Directv technical support my calls are dropped after several attempts.

Does anyone know of a quick way to check this possible problem.

Any help will be appreciated.

Check that the phone number the TiVo is calling is local or toll-free.
Disconnect the phone cord from the back of the reciever and plug in a phone to see if you get a dial tone.

What model TiVo? Have you tried a reboot? Did you try a test call or force a daily call? You may have better luck with DirecTV tech support tomorrow once all of the calls about why they didn't get so and so football in HD calls are done.

Every now and then I'll get one of those messages. I used to immediately force a call. Now I've gotten to where I ignore it, delete the message, and the TiVo makes a call on its own. Maybe it got a busy signal the last time it tried to call or the moon was in the wrong phase or the wind was blowing the wrong way or some such silly thing but I've found that it eventually resolves on its own.

I just got one of those messages the other day on my series 1 D-TiVo. I suspect it is because the unit now likes to call "home" about once a week or so. It used to go his every couple of days. Just ignore it & your Tivo will call when it is scheduled to.

Why does Tivo need to call anyway? I thought the guide loaded from the satellite. I hate it that the Tivo bugs you to make a call.
