View Full Version : Football Blacked Out on CBSHD
I qualify for the west coast network feeds. I also have the CBS-HD. The football is not blacked out on the SD feed, but blacked out on the HD feed?
Anyone know the rationale?
Thanks
-Brian
Is your SD feed the same as your HD feed or are they out of seperate cities?
hmmm....fine question.....
I *think* or *thought* that the west coast distant feeds and the CBS-HD were out of the same city (LA).

I've got the OAK-PIT game on my CBS-HD feed on 148 right now.
hmmmm....sounds like a call to Dishnetwork is in my future....

Is the CBSHD feed on the same satellite the locals are on?

That depends on where you are. For the west coast, yes, a lot of the time.

Is the CBSHD feed on the same satellite the locals are on? :confused:CBS-HD East is on 61.5, CBS-HD West is on 148. There are a few "extra locals" on 61.5 or 148, but most major network locals are on 119-110. The exception would be the new 105/121 markets and a couple markets that are 148 only.
The "distant network" SD versions of the CBS feeds are on 119.

Jason: There's more locals on 148 than before. It's primary for Grand Junction CO, Medford, OR, Amarillo TX, Idaho Falls ID, and Cheyenne WY.
I should've said "western US" instead of "west coast", tho.

CBS-HD is blacked out for NFL games unless you are in the LA or New York market. I think it has to be due to the fact that DirecTV is the only provider of out of market hd games no matter what you circumstances are.

Games are also not blacked out if you live in a "white area".

I'm in the Colorado Springs DMA, but with no local OTA whatsoever. I don't think that' the same as 'white area', but I got the game as posted above. Maybe it's because I'm grandfathered from the BUD old days.

SS - White area is the same as unserved area which sounds like your situation. I live in the Portland OR DMA but I also have no local OTA access (4000+ ft. mountains on three sides). FCC maps classify my area as unserved (no translators, below grade B signal).
