Was watching a recorded show while recording another. Suddenly the screen goes black, then grey with the "powering up" message. The machine rebooted! It is plugged into a UPS, there was no power-failure, no blink... just a complete reboot of the unit for no apparent reason. Once it was finally up and available (man, it takes FOREVER!) I checked the messages and system info, there was no phone-call, no software upgrade, nothing that should have caused a reboot.

I hope that doesn't become frequent!

Are you otherwise happy (if not happygolucky! :D) with this unit?

I had this happen once, only on one of my two Hughes DirecTivos. I was changing channels when a timer fired at the same time. I lost 9 minutes of the show it was recording. I guess this was about last January. I have not had the problem since.

Mine did it 4 times over a 4 day period.I turned off suggestions and have been putting it in standby when not in use and the reboots have stopped. There is a post over at the Tivo Community about this.Other people are having this problem as well.

As I was reading this post mine did the same thing. This is the second time it has done this. The unit isn't that old, I got it on the 24th of July.

Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing it. Thankfully it has only happened the one time, so far. I regularly put the unit in Standby when I'm not viewing. It didn't reboot last evening while watching so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
