I just installed the RCA TIVO unit yesterday with the optical digital cable to my Sony A/V Receiver. The sound is excellent for movies in Dolby Digital. However, I have not been impressed with the sound of the music channels. The numerous audio options in my A/V receiver make me dizzy. Right now I'm using AFD to automatically detect digital signals. When I switch to the music channels, I'm only getting sound out of the front left and right speakers, not the center and rear speakers. Is there a particular setting in the receiver that will work the best on the music channels? Thanks

Music channels are broadcast in stereo so you'll only get sound from your left and right speakers. Your receiver may be able to manipulate the sound so that it comes out of your rear speaker but that's going to be an artificial and, in my opinion, doesn't sound as good.

I'd stick with stereo since that's the way the signal comes to you. Plus, if you feel like attempting to tweak your receiver's settings, try to adjust the Equalizer settings so that you get the proper sound.
