Now that we have been spoiled with BravoHD and NBCHD, what will be the next new offering? Starting to get antsy here. :D You always amaze me with the accuracy of your info, so keep it coming. Thanks!

You can't actually be happy with that NBC HD quality can you? It looks pretty crappy to me. If thats what they call HD, I am going to cancel my subscription. The Tonight Show looks horrible for something called HD.

Thanks N8. :) My sources at DirecTV seem to be fairly reliable and have been very nice about providing the info.

The only thing I can tell you right now is that FOXHD is on the horizon. No exact launch date has been given but I will be sure to post the info when it crosses my desk.

I spoke to a CSR at D* last night and she said FOX HD would be up in a month or so.

I thought I remembered reading in some forum somwhere that we were suppose to get all kinds of new HD in September. Has that been delayed. I was very glad to see NBC and Bravo come on line. I was hoping to see more than that like INHD1and2, TNT and Starz for sure. Tie that in with Fox and ABC sometime this month or next and I would be content for awhile. Down the road it would be nice to see WB and UPNHD.

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!! I sure hope she's right Carl Im in the Cleveland DMA as well and cannot get Channel 8 to come in OTA on their digital channel tho it just might be that my HD Tivo is super sensitive with the signal strength as I also have the same problem with WEWS Channel 5 I can only get that at certain times during the day which kinda sucks but I dont watch ABC that often just for MNF.

You must be in a bad location or on the very outskirts of the Cleveland DMA because Channel 8 and 5 are two of the strongest signals in Cleveland and both are UHF. Now if you had trouble getting Channel 3, that would be understandable. Perhaps its your OTA antenna.

Naw I think its the fact that the HD Tivo is super sensitive with OTA Signals before I activated it I had a Samsung HD receiver the T-360 I think and I DID in fact receive everything while that was activated once I deactivated it and activated the HD Tivo I now only receive 3 and 19. 5 goes in and out and 8 is a no go at all.

Lem52For one who can't get NBC OTA (SD or HD), NBC-HD from DirecTV looks just fine to me.

I can't get it at all via over the air, I live in a valley and am blocked by hills and trees.

I can get NBC OTA and have not found any difference in PQ between NBC HD (Channels 82 and 83) and my local OTA (WBZ, Boston & WJAR, Providence).
All 3 have excellent PQ and 5.1 audio)

I posted the message about the HD quality on NBC-HD. When I watched that particular show, we were having alot of rainy weather and the PQ could have been due to that. I watched NBC-HD last night (8-20) and it looked a heck of alot better than it did the first time.

WBZ, Boston is a CBS affiliate, not NBC. The NBC affiliate here in Boston is WHDH. Besides, you live in the Providence area, so why would you be getting Boston?

And also, I know that in the Providence/New Bedford area, for some reason, D* offers WEDN 53, which is PBS out of Norwich, CT. How come they offer this one instead of WSBE 36?

Sorry, I meant WHDH, 7-1. (Guess I have never forgiven WBZ for being sold to CBS and losing their LONG TIME NBC affililation). And why shouldn't I be getting Boston OTA channels? I am paying $2.25 a month for the two NBC feeds. But none of this changes the fact that I am receiving excellent PQ from WHDH, WJAR and NBCHD E/W. Can't answer the question regarding WSBE which should be OTA in the near future.
