DirecTivo SD-DVR40 and HR10-250 and using Vonage for dial

I've looked at the threads over on TivoCommunity and here and tried their some of there tricks and nothing is working for me. The boxes can call over Vonage to get new phone numbers but when I try to use Vonage for a test of normal call it fails to connect. Vonage says they've updated the firmware in the MTA but that didn't do it either.

So has anyone made this work and what was the magic you used? Thanks - RAD

The Series 2 boxes won't dial over Vonage period, at least in 98% of all cases. I have mine hooked up with a PPP serial connection to my XP computer so it makes it's daily call over the broadband connection.

However, the DirecTV monthy dial home call should go through just fine.
