Ernest "Fritz" Hollings (D-South Carolina), successfully put forth an amendment erasing the 2009 deadline favored by (Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona)). ... I wish you people in SC would get Ernest "Fritz" Hollings out of washington. Guy has been nothing but a road block to progress on every front from this to broadband.

Most of the congressmen that respond favorably to the NAB and Cable are usually those of a ripe old age in the 60s and 70s age range. These are the people their lobbyists are going after because basically older politicians don't really care as much about technology and can use the extra $$$. Also it does *NOT* really matter if a senator is Republican or Democrat. There are such things as Conservative Democrats and Liberal Republicans. When asking your relatives in Carolina or wherever to vote for the right person, make sure you tell them why. Don't regret voting for a Republican if your a Democrat or voting Democrat if you are Republican. Simply vote on if you favor their activities in Washington or not. Oh and yes some politicians give lobbyists more say then regular people. It usually takes 10,000 people to equal that of a single lobbyist! Don't let party lines fool you on Vote Day!
Oh, if you are in AZ make sure you vote for John McCain when he is up for re-election. The guy actually does care about consumers more then special interests. We can use a President like him some day and I am a Democrat saying that! I am always sure not to let party lines fool me at the voting booth.
