Does anybody have some good experience with recording and modifying MP3 files from a live session?

I'm audio / video ministry leader at my church and we have been using "audio recorder lite" off the "tape outs" on the sound board, then editing the big file using Nero Wave editor.

I want to be able to break the different songs during service (and the sermon) into individual files before burning CDs.

Anybody have software to reccomend?

"MP3 Splitter & Joiner" is what I use for simple tasks. Can't remember if it was freeware or inexpensive shareware.

For big jobs, though, I use "GoldWave". I have been very pleased with this software and the latest version is really fast and user friendly

Try Magix music studio. It can be had for around $80. You can mix up to 64 channels of audio complete with a vocoder, tube amp simulator, many filters, and ofcourse wave editing capability. If your not used to working on a Mackie console, ProTools, or other mixing console, then this software interface might be a little alien to the average consumer. But you get really good professional results. It also includes a MP3 converter and cd burning capability.
