Dish less than a week and I have a $165 bill

Got Dish Network on Wednesday April 24, 2002 (less than a week ago) and today in the mail I get a bill for $165 for two months of programing (this is after I already paid $148.99 activation fee when it was installed). What ever happened to paying for a service after it's provided to the customer?

ALL programming is to be pre-paid, and they take the first 2 months at once - sorry. However, I would still call Dish at 800-333-DISH and DISCUSS it with a CSR and ask them to explain. You may need to talk to a supervisor, but I have had good luck talking to CSR's to date.

My guess is that you're on a Digital Home plan, and upgraded to a PVR 501 ($49.95 activation + $100 extra for the PVR) - but you should still get the first 3 months...

$165 sounds a bit high. I have top 150 with HBO and supers plus one extra receiver for $65 a month ($130 for 2 months) I think they made a mistake. What do you have for programming and what plan or promo are you on? or did you buy it outright?
