If anyone has the answer to this please let me know. I get the locals via
DTV but cannot get the digital and hd ota because the ABC station is 90 miles
distant, CBS is 70 miles distant and the NBC station is 35 miles away and
transmitting with a whopping 800 watts. Is it possible to get Directv to
try and get waivers for the NBC and Fox affiliates(I'm in the same boat Fox
since it is also 35-40 miles away and I can't get their digital signal)on my
behalf?

If you call D and ask them to summit wavers for you for thouse channels they will not sure if you will get them but they will do the work for you to try and get them.

If that doesn't work, call D* and tell them that you have moved into a "white" area and ask them to turn on the Distant Network Service (DNS). Go to http://directvdnseligibility.decisionmark.com/app/AddressEntry.asp and see what zip codes closest to you qualify for DNS service, or at least CBS and NBC. Call D* and tell them you have moved to some address there but to leave your billing address and telephone number the same. Call back a couple of days later and tell them that you don't get any local stations and ask them to turn on the DNS feeds. They will do it for @ $3 per network, E and W, HD included. It works.
