I had a four room 522/322 based system installed about 10 days ago. After the initial adjustment period ("What is the new channel number for...?), etc., all was going well and everyone seemed happy with the new system. My 14 year old daughter sometimes goes downstairs to the den to watch "my" 35" Mits TV. When I had the new system installed, I routed the audio and video through my A/V receiver. It does not have a pass through, so the A/V receiver has to be turned on to get programming to the TV. I did not want my daughter operating this equipment, so I had not shown her how to do so. She asked a couple of times how to turn on the Tv in the den, so I decided to split the feed to her TV and route it to the antenna A input on the Mits. This would also allow me to keep her channel list intact and hopefully keep her away from any R rated movies that may show on Encore.
Last night, I took her remote down to the den and checked to be sure the UHF would reach the MBR where she is TV 2 off of the 322 receiver. It worked fine. Today, while she was at school, I ran RG6 to that TV from the location where all of the cables feed out to the house and installed a splitter to feed the den TV. I programmed out all of the channels on that input except 73. I took her remote downstairs, tuned the TV to Antenna A, verified channel 73 was selected, and hit the power button for the 322. Nothing! I went upstairs to the TV in her room. Nothing. Must have crossed the cables. They checked O.K.. How much could I have messed up putting a splitter in the line? I took the remote back to the MBR to try it right in front of the 322. The green power light came on. Green? That is tuner 1. Oh, she and my wife must have accidentally swapped remotes before they went to bed last night. I picked up the other remote from the night stand. Wait a minute... Both of them have a green tab at the bottom. Isn't the RF remote supposed to have blue? I remembered seeing something about this in the owner's manual. I removed the battery cover and turned the green tab over to show blue. Battery cover back on and it works from all locations.
I picked up my daughter after school today. On the way home, I asked her if she had done anything to her Sat remote last night. Nooo...nothing. (What else would you expect?). Are you sure, I asked. Nothing with the little colored tab at the bottom? Realizing that there was no way around it she 'fessed up. "Well, it looked like it would slide out, so I tried and it came out. I thought the green was prettier than the blue, so I turned it over".
I was lucky. It only took me about an hour to figure out what had happened.

Yet she didn't complain that it didn't work, did she? :D

It was 10:30 when I took the remote downstairs to test it. She must have made the switch after she turned off the TV for the night, so she did not know it was not working. Believe me, I would have heard about that right away!

Does flipping the color change the electronics?

The #1 remote, or green is IR only. The #2 remote can be switched to IR from UHF. There is also an upgrade to make the green #1 UHF, but you have to have a #2 remote and the UHF #1 key to do this.

A fellow who worked for me pulled a great joke one day. He covered the audio out speaker of my cell phone with electric tape:)

I eventually found it but pulled a great gag back. told him I had to take the phone in for service and was charged $75 for the tape!!!

What a howl he fell for it!!!
