flipping channels/ dvr not recording automatically

hi,

i have dtv with a dual tuner dvr. when i first got the dvr, i could flip between 2 channels and the dvr would automatically record each. so, lets say i was watching football on channel 2, then switched to tennis on channel four. when i hit the jumop button to go back to channel 2, it would have the past 30 minutes or so automatically recorded. now, for some reason, it does not do this anymore. often, right when i flip to the channel, it will show that it has recorded , but then it quickly disappears. is there anything i can do to fix this?

Most likely it's recording something on the other tuner.

To swap tuners like you are saying you want to use the down arrow button. Once you have both tuners set to the channels you want then you should be able to use the jump button to flip between the two or just use the down arrow to keep swaping then out. Of course if the other tuner is recording something then you can still flip between two channels on the "live" tuner but it can't buffer both programs.

At least this is the way my DirecTivo has worked for nearly 3 years.
