I live in the washington dc area and when d* started the hd feeds of nbc i figured since i live in an o&o market that i would get it. But it never came on and when I called d* a csr said i needed a waiver. Anyone have any advice here. If your in an o&o market why would they still say that i need a waiver.

Its possible that you live in an area that is also claimed as a "grade B" signal of another NBC station.
Go HERE (http://directvdnseligibility.decisionmark.com/app/AddressEntry.asp)
to see whats stations claim your address. If anything other than the DC station is listed you will need a waiver.

They are probably saying you need a waiver from WBAL 11 NBC in Baltimore, since the DC and Baltimore stations are so close together. WRC NBC 4 is owned by NBC so you would be able to get NBC-HD East and West with no waivers.

This is what doesn't add up though--if you are in the Washington DC DMA, and those are your locals on Directv (they couldn't dare give you both Baltimore and Washington with the ridiculous laws), but then Baltimore's NBC keeps you from getting HD-NBC. That is crazy.
