I have my 921 hooked up to a Panasonic PT-55LC14 monitor, which is incredible. HD content, both OTA and HDPak look incredible. SD content always looks a little fuzzy, but dependant upon the channel. Sports is borderline unwatchable non-HD.
I'm hooked up using DVI-HDMI converter, as my TV uses HDMI, but is backwards compatable with DVI.
I've used various settings, both on the Monitor and the Receiver (setting to 1080i, 720p, 480p, etc), and it appears that 720p is the best. My monitor is capable of 1080i, but converts everything to 720p (it's native resolution).

I know that HD monitors have a tendancy to "show" the quality of the broadcasts, and depending upon the compression, etc, this can affect the PQ.

Someone let me know I'm not the only one out here with this issue!! :eek2:

Boy, I was just going to post that my PQ has really improved, especially the network feeds. I have CBS-HD and it is spectacular but I watched an episode of Law and Order on NBC-SD last night and it was very good, much better than it has been. Some of the less popular channels that I like, such as BBC still suck, though.

My guess is that Dish dials the compression up and down according to the number of viewers on a given channel.

Hi, Neighbor (I'm in northeast Seattle, just above Sand Point)

No, you're not alone. I get awesome HD pix. on our 61" Sammy DLP with a 921 both OTA and E*'s HD pack, but it does bring out the worst in SD. Although I'm one of those who thinks the quality has actually improved over the last couple of months. It used to be like watching "the clay dudes", but now either my vision is worse, I've become acclimatized to the poor quality, or it's actually got better.
