I just got a letter from Charter telling me that the price of my internet connection is going to go up $10/month (but I can get a $10/month discount if I bundle it with any cable package - thanks, but no thanks). A few months ago I canceled my cable and went to D* and have no intention of switching back, so I'm looking for some other provider. I know SBC has DSL, but they require a bundle as well - I'd need to have at least basic local phone service with them. I have Vonage and don't need or want SBC phone service. So - anyone know of other options or sites that might help me find other options? Looking with Google I get a bunch of hits but all of them are just asking for personal information (of course saying they won't give it to anyone else) so they can send me options via e-mail. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried www.broadbandreports.com?

Thanks Geronimo, I have looked there... frankly I seem to get a lot more listings then what seems to be actually available here. I should note too that I'm an online gamer so I need good speed both up and down... I suspect I'll just have to bite the bullet and keep Charter but this type of crap is why I started looking for an alternative to cable in the first place - they revised their packages earlier this year and I lost on that deal too which is why I switched to D*. And now less then 6 months later they're "introducing" yet another "pricing structure". Ah well, I guess that's the problem with addictions... have to pay the price to get your fix.
