Possibly. It took a very long time, but OpenTV apps eventually made it to the 921's sister the model 721. So there is hope, but it might not be something they worry about until many other items are complete.

Except the 721 still does not have all of the interactive applications enabled yet. The update was promised for 10/01/04 and it still hasn't hit yet.

We certainly won't have this in time for the multi-channel election coverage. Whether or not we ever have this on the 921 is open to some debate. Presumably the Linux implementation would be completely unlike the proprietary implementation, and hence there's probably a large amount of work for Dish here.
