What is considered normal, if any, signal loss when routhing through a DP34, the reason I ask is that when I set up my Superdish, signal strength when connected directly to the receiver was an average of 100 on all 3 sats, (110,119,121) after the switch it is near 90 or about a 10 point signal strength drop, on the same transponders.

Thanks
Bob

Well, you are creating an extra connection, which will create loss. But it shouldn't be that much.

119 105 before switch 92 after switch
121 95 before switch 82 after switch

make sure you use good quality cable, RG-6 and try to avoid very long runs of cable. The farther it goes, the more signal you lose. We installed a switch in my house a few weeks ago and on average it only lost about 2-3 points of signal strength on some tps, other tp's were not effected one bit..

The cable was my problem, I tried using a Belden cable I had on hand, for test purposes I tried a cable that was swept tested to 2300 mhz and the signal loss was gone.
The cable definitely does make a difference.
