I had dish about 8 months ago. I cancel cause they wouldn't give me any deal for more recievers for other rooms. can I go back to them and get any deals like 4 rooms setup or anything, also are they still giving deal on 921 for $599? and if they are how do I get it? or will i have to sign back up under wifes name.

Check online or at a local retailer. Maybe they can help you? :)

Just out of curiosity, what do you have now that you are dissatisfied with (cable)?

They have more flexability than a dealer, if you were a good customer they will want you back. :)

Generally, you need a different name, and a difference phone # to get a new account at the same address.

Just use a cell number.

E* checks three things, 1)phone number
2)name
3)address
1)use a cell phone number
2)use a different name <*note*make sure that name has never been used
on your previous Dish account nowhere, last name
can be the same though...ie..duaghter or son
bought your house, something anyway>
3)does not matter as long as 1 and 2 are different.
<*side note> they may want existing customers new address to send correspondence to but maybe not, hard to say.>
In this case this way, then retailer or E* should be able to set the account up with minimal questions.

I don't see an advantage to switching back & forth. Doesn't that cost $s? Or do you people have money to burn? I'm just curious.

the advantage to those that do this, is they want the new buggy equipment that isn't available to them for whatever reason at the time. At least that is what I gather when I do those installs where those have done such. Latest and greatest is what it seems to be all about. But, to each their own, let em send more money to E* or whoever

the reason i left was because i had satelite and cable and decided that it was stupid to pay for both. i would rather go with satelite because the picture quality is better. they were offering deals to new customers for 4 room setups for free but it would have cost me quite a bit to buy all the recievers since i was allready a dish customer i couldn't get any deal. so i canceled. the csr told me that they could call me back 3 months after i cancel and offer me a better deal.that just doesn't make any sense. why would they want to let a customer that would be paying close to $100 a month leave for 3 months then offer them a deal to get them back. i'm sure most people would just get dtv instead and never go back to dish.

Welcome to the stupidity of corporate america. Since they already gave you something once, it they would loose money by offering you something again. Current subscribers always have to pay for new sub deals. That's why so many use a different name to get a new customer deal. Now that they are using your SSN, it is getting more difficult, but it is still being done.

I am planning on getting Dish back to my house in a few months. However, my Mom had the account in her name and its the same address I am living at right now. It shouldnt be any problem getting a new customer deal.
Why am I going to go back to Dish? So many reasons....but here's a few:
1)I miss Charlie Chats and the Technical Chats. I do hope those are still on. Its been about 4 years since I had Dish Network. Make that 4 years ago this Halloween!!
2)You know much I am paying for cable? Its in the triple digits per month (well.....more like 110/month).
3)Cricket, Cricket, Cricket!!!
This is going to be a Mother's Day gift from me. I shoudn't have left Dish in the first place but thats gonna change very very soon.

Untrue.
There is a promotion called Former Customer DHA. To qualify you need the following:
3+ months since you disconnected service (Voluntarily, not a disconnect for non-payment of services.)
No oustanding balance on your account.
No Equiptment left on account.
This is only available directly through Dish, and not a retailer.
[QUOTE=Brian Rector]I am planning on getting Dish back to my house in a few months.
3)Cricket, Cricket, Cricket!!!
Here's a quick tip. Cricket is only allowed on the first receiver on the account, so be sure that the receiver which is hooked up to your main TV (or the one you plan to watch matches on) is specified by the installer as the first one on the account.
Will potentially solve problems down the line.

Back when I subbed to Cricket on Dish, it was on the master receiver. Here's how much I am so wanting to get back to Dish in a few months:
I am even willing to pay for the equipment if they give me any static. However, I do not imagine its gonna get to that point. Cable has gotten to the point that it has only 2 options: pull out the whole thing and just watch via rabbit ears or go for Dish. I am a former Pegasus subscriber (I left Dish for Pegasus and that was a big mistake) and there's no way Id ever go back to them. Paying more for programming that DirecTV subs get for less was way insulting to me.

I just called dish and they told me the only way to get a 921 was through a retailer. is this true or is it another case of the csr not knowing what they are talking about and if it is true does anyone know where i can find the deal for $599 for new customer?

You might want to hold off on that 921...SatGuys is reporting from todays retailer chat that the 921 MSRP is dropping to like $549.
