Is there a faster way to fast forward thru a recorded program, other than pressing the forward button 3 times? It takes FOREVER to get to the end of a 2-hour program.

Also, if I start playing a recorded program, then stop, then go back later, I see an option to resume playback, but not one to start over from the beginning. How do I start over?

Once it is Fast Forwarding the 3 times, hit the ->| button and it will skip to the next white tick mark each time you press it.

And, if you press REW and then the ->| button it goes backward to the previous tick marks.

Any idea on my second question?

Yeah, fast forward and advance to the end. One more ->| at the end will take it back to the beginning...

Or do what jdspencer said to get back to the beginning quicker.... There is no start over.

Actually the "Save to VCR" option will start you at the beginning (But then while in playback you can only FF REW and pause, you cannot access any menus as you are supposed to be saving to VCR)
I think you may have to add the 30 sec skip to get the rew to previous tick option while rewinding
To activate 30 second skip start watching a show from now playing and press [select] [play] [select] [3] [0] [select].

No, the FF and REW functions are the same regardless of whether the 30s is enabled.

But, you don't have to hit FF three times. As long as you're in any of the fast forward (or for that matter rewind) modes, the skip to tick button will work.

Question - Is it I or number 1 button?

The skip to end/tick button looks like (->|). If that was your question? :)
