does anyone have any experience with backing up 522 recordings with your computer? I recently purchased a ATI TV Wonder VE for my computer allowing me to send the rf signal from my receiver into my computer (about a 3-4 year old compaq 5000 series). I can watch it fine though the computer, no frame skipping or anything, but what I noticed, is that once I hit record, it has a status meter on percent of frames skipped. COuld this be to my computers processor not being fast enough to handle it? I am recording to an 80 gig harddrive, so there would be enough memory for what I want to record. Second question, when I transfer it to nero 5.5 in order to burn it to a compact disk, so far I have only been able to burn it to a memorex cd-rw, it plays on my 3 disk apex cd/dvd player, but there is a recurring high pitch sound along with the play back, could this be due to the quality of the cd, or the burner software I am using, or both? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I am also posting this in the dish network talk forum in the dish network dvr discussion, so if you read this there, there is no reason to try to respnd twice. Thanks Again

Actually you can directly pull files from the 522 harddrive with Linux and a few XFS cracking tools it does take a while like 6 days on a 2.8ghz p4 running Gentoo optimized for the p4. But as you as you busted through the weak security you can pull the files off.
