Larger dish / Rain fade

i have a 30 inch free to air dish and i put a dishpro lnb on it and i peaked it for hours and i get a lower signal than i get with a dish 500 i get a 125 on transponder 11 on the dish 500 but only 116 on the 30 inch dish
would the 30 inch dish still be less susceptible to rain fade ? even though I'm getting a lowering reading. i know the larger surface collects more signal, but why arnt i getting higher readings with the larger dish ?

Couple things come to mind:

How did you mount the lnb to the 30"? The dish lnbs may not sit in the correct spot/focal point.

What kind of dish is it or what's it made out of? Maybe it doesn't reflect the signal as well as a standard dishnet dish.

it had the D shape lnb mount and everything and when i use the dish with fta it gives me like a 97 - 100 signal with free to air stuff just only like a 115 on the 119 sat with the dishpro lnb

All I know is, since I got my superdish, I haven't had rain fade yet. And we had a few nasty storms since then also (I have had power outages, so I have had power fade :-)

whats ur signal on ur super dish ?
like on transponder 11 on all 3 Sat's??

i just got my super dish in on Tuesday and my signals are
112 on 110
120 on 119
100 on 121 all on transponder 11


never rained yet so i dont know about rain fade, i do know i had higher readings with dish 500 so thats why i am worried and i had a few rain fade outages

I use 2 30" commercial DBS dishes for my system, and I still have problems with rain fade.
