Any experienced person(s) have a good recommendation for a coax cutting tool suitable for RG11 with copper clad steel center conductor? I recently got a good deal on Commscope 5916 but its center conductor is CU cladded steel and my coax cutting tool is only rated for CU & AL.
I want a decent quality but won't be making hundreds of cuts. I posted this on the "other" forum but got a response talking about a prep tool. That's not the issue.
Thanks.

Unh. Lineman's pliers? Boltcutters?
I don't see the issue. You might oval the end, but that's trivial to re-round, and the "damaged" part is going to get sliced up to attach the conenctor anyway.
If I'm missing something, please let me know.

If it was a RG6 18 AWG cladded steel conductor I would not be concerned. However, I do not intend to dull and pit the cutting edge of a rather expensive Benner-Nawman coax cutter severing 14 AWG mainly steel wire.
I took the helpful advice of the "other" forum and bought a quality lineman pliers to execute the final coup de grace on the center conductor.

Actually advice from CablerMN http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=33158 was explicit, unequivocal, without sarcasm, provided a link to a steel rated coax cutter as well as a link to a reasonably priced steel rated lineman's pliers that he recommended based on a couple decades of experience in its use. That's what folks are looking for.

Ya. I read the other thread. Sorry for being direct and 15 minutes too late.
