I'm going a little nuts on this one.
I have a 2nd TV connected via TV set out.
When the 921 is in HD on the main TV I can use any of my silver remotes as normal. But when I am in SD to the 2nd TV the only remote that works is the remote that came with the 921. The other silver remotes won't work.
I did some searches of this forum and didn't find any related. I can't believe someone else hasn't run across this before so it must be me.
thanks,
pculley

Where are you using the remotes from? The 921 remote works on RF and should work anywhere within a reasonable range. The silver remotes, while RF, use a different frequency or something for the RF, so they do not work beyond visual range of the 921. The silver remotes DO also emit IR, so they work fine in visual range of the 921.

Correct. You're able to use the other silver remotes with the 921 within line of sight because it using IR.

Thanks for the feedback but maybe I did not explain my situation correctly.
Up till last week I had a 721 connected to the main tv and tv out to the upstairs bedroom TV.
I had a remote at both TV's and never had a lick of problems with either remote working the 721.
Retired the 721 to downstairs and replaced with 921. Now silver remote upstairs does not work at all when you are upstairs. However, if I bring it downstairs in front of the receiver it works fine. I guess I am confused why the change between the 721 and 921 causes the remote to have to be in line of sight of the receiver????
So basically, if you want to control the 921 from any room that is not in line of sight of the 921 I will you will have to purchase a 921 specific remote?
Since I bought the 921 last week and see that there is a 300 price drop I'm not in the best of moods today.

Switch the remotes. Use the one that came with the 921 upstairs and use the old one in the same room where the infra red works.

Wow. You're right. I have no idea why I didn't think of that. I guess I was so caught up in getting it to work that I missed the obvious. :-)
