Just got my second dish installed for my locals. My HTL-HD was setup to go through the antenna for locals (channels 2,4,6,7,12). Now the Directv locals are the same channels and I can't get the thing to quit trying to go through the antenna! I tried to hit the reset and everything and they still don't go away. My 2 new D10 are picking up the locals fine. Any ideas?
Try page 71 in the HTL manual also maybe page 49. The HTL will display both Directv locals and OTA.

Those pages tell me how to setup my OTA channels, but I want to remove them? Right now my D10s show Directv locals on 2,4, 6, 7, and 12. If I go to those on my HTL-HD it is just snow and says ANT in the upper right. I need those channels to be removed so I can see the DTV locals?

I have the similar Sony unit, SAT HD300. I have one UHF antenna attached to one input, a UHF/VHF antenna attached to the cable input and the directv antenna fed into the directv input. When I enter my zip codes and it does the set up search, all stations OTA and sat. are programmed. If I want to remove a station I do it individually. The directions are in the manual.
It works like a charm. If you press the Chan. 2 button you should get directv's channel. To get the antenna 2 channel, you have to channel up or down. Same for the cable channel. Good luck.

How do you remove the channels individually? Sorry I don't have my manual on me right now. Thanks.
directv.com has the entire manual:

OK, I think there is some confusion here. The manual tells me how to add the channels and how to setup a custom guide. What I need to do is remove these channels from the system all together. My DTV channels will not show up because the receiver is looking for the ANTENNA channel which doesn't work anymore because I don't have an antenna. What I need to do is have the receiver find the DTV channel. Has anyone out there used an OTA antenna with this box before going to Directv locals? There has to be an easy solution to this, I just can't find it.
Go to the "Surf" setup menu. (Under the second menu heading.) It will allow you to choose which channels are shown and not shown. When you do this setup, it will scan and, if appropriate you could have, like me, 13 DirecTV, 13 Antenna, 13 Cable, 13-1 Antenna, 13-2 Antenna. (Did the last upgrade turn on an analog cable tuner? I think I tried that when I first got the HTL-HD, but it did not register.) You will probably want to switch weaker or duplicate channels to Not Shown.
You do know that the Directv feeds are not HDTV feeds, you will still need the overthe air antenna feeds if you want HDTV from the local channels.
