Okay is this an issue with my particular 921 or is it E’s uplink? For the last few days I’ve been noticing a greater discrepancy in the color levels between different SAT channels. Either too much color or almost none as you surf from channel to channel. And a high percentage of channels seem to have developed a definite greenish hue, or pallor (Herman Munster like). This is on all outputs of my 921. And no, it’s not my monitor – I have four sets connected to the 921 -- Three by RF in other rooms (away from the 921’s location) and the main big screen via Component and S-Video -- No DVI hookup, but I’m guessing it’s output is going to look the same. I’m getting the exact same appearance on everything connected to the 921. Other video sources on the same sets (DVD & VCR) look fine. The green thing seems to come and go – like some idiot engineer at the uplink is goofing with it. I was watching HDNetMovie about a week ago and everything went totally green – I switched to another channel and the color was perfect.

Anyone else having this issue or can I assume that my 921 is about to croak? :eek2:

Oh - almost forgot. Previously recorded shows (on the HD) look fine too...

You know, I've been wondering about this recently myself, except that I'm seeing it more with the svideo outputs of my 508s that I have connected to my distribution system through the house. I'm seeing several SD channels seriously red-shifted.

Well I just got home from the local Costco. They had four aisles of TV’s, nice mix of HD and SD units, all with lovely green shifted images. They were all displaying E’s “propaganda loop” which was being fed by a Dish 6000 receiver to their distribution amp. That pretty much confirmed for me that what I’m seeing here is an E uplink issue. I asked the Costco guy if they had called E tech-support about the problem and he said that it wouldn’t do any good, never had before when there was a problem, and that they’d just wait for E to resolve it. I guess he was right about E because I called them when I got home and told them what I was experiencing and about what was going on at Costco. They told me that it was most likely another software issue with the 921 and to just wait to see if the next release (mid Nov.) fixes it. Never mind (I guess) that it’s a 6000 receiver at Costco – Gee Isn’t it nice to know that the next 921 update is going to fix those too…
