Hi all,

I am going to put up an antenna for local HD stuff. I currently have a dp34 box with 4 different lines coming out of it. (2 301's,510, and 811). I would like to have the OTA stuff coming through on 3 units: 2 301's and the 811. I noticed the dp34 has one "extra" input for an additional SAT signal. Is this exclusively for an additional SAT signal, or can the Antenna input be jacked in there?
If yes.....will that integrate the two signals so I only need to use a diplexer on the outside of the 301's and 811?

If no....does that mean I need 3 SETS of diplexers?....one at the "front of the line" and one just before the STB's?....if this is my only option, does that mean the following 2 things:

One...I have to split the Antenna feed into 3 leads once inside so I have 3 to go into the 3 different "lead" diplexers?

Two....If I have to split the Antenna feed....will all of the splitting and diplexing degrade the OTA signal too much?

I plan on installing the largest Deepest fringe Channelmaster I can find.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH YOUR WISDOM

You will need three sets of diplexers. Yes splitting the TV antenna will weaken the signal to each TV. Will it weaken the signal too much? Very hard to answer with the small amount of information you provided.

What other information can I give you to help you help me?

I've seen a third-party DishPro switch that has 3 satellite and one OTA input. Maybe from Microyal? Maybe named the DN34 or DN44?

You'd still need 3 diplexers of course - but not 3 pairs. ;)

Godd question. Maybe you could put a dc block on the extra input and try putting the antenna in this way. Has this ever been tried?

Not sure what extra input you mean on which type of switch, but none of the E* switches will pass OTA reliably, and the third-party switch I mentioned was one input specifically for OTA.
