I got my 721 10 days ago, pluged it in and nothing, called d* and they agreed to ship replacement, just for kicks i opened the box and low and behold the power cord was unpluged from mother board. Pluged it in and it booted up, ran switch check saw all 3 birds on both tuners and all ok. an hour later tuner 1 quit. Ran switchh check and tuner 1 could not see dishes, dish 500 with quad and dish 300 with dual and a dp34. swapp cables between inputs and same result. new 721 came today, have 2 new cables from dp34 to 721 dish point screen shows green and 89 to 90 on both tuners but switch chheck fails on tuner 1 even after cables swapped. HELP d* wants to swend out tech at my expense. can't see what he can do that i cant. :(

Can be bad switch or LNB. This occured to me a couple years ago. More likely Dishpro setup, are you a new sub

Doesnt matter, the ONLy test for 721s LNBs and switches is ANOTHER 721...

721s were less stable on dish pro switches and LNBs at least at the time.. BYW this was what advanced tech told me. I had at least 3 721s siting here.... none worked for more than a day.

If you have a old legacy twin try connecting it to that as a temporary test.

I used a spare dish and ran the coax thru my doggie door..

is your system grounded?

I ran 2 new cables hooked to outputs 1 and 2 of dp34 and ran redundant ground to dp 34, disconnect 501 so 721 was only receiver on line and still fail switch check. just for kicks hooked up first 721 and it passes switch check. called support back (call automaticly routed to advanced support) they agree the 721 has to be the problem. they cancelled service call and are sending me a new receiver.

Sounds like a bad tuner, possibly.
