What is the point of Comcast launching sports networks when the sports teams demand that they let it be carried on DBS?

Comcast has like 5 or 6 sports networks now and only one is cable exclusive (why are the teams putting up with that BS anyway?)

Beacuse, at least in Chicago, the teams are the Majority owner of the Channel, and Comcast is a minority owner. They are making more $ than they did from getting the rights fees from FSN, just by being on Comcast. Any $ they get from DBS & other cable systems is just gravy. However, they know they risk alienating fans by not getting on the DBS systems, so they encourage Comcast, who does have the negotiating rights, to get as much exposure as possible. The teams aren't demanding that it be carried by DBS, just that it be offered to them.
