921 DVR malfunction

Last night I used the guide to Select SNL on NBC but today when I went to watch it the show was listed on the DVR list so I started watching and FF a few ads at this point I was like to 74 minutes remaining then it jumps to like 7 minutes remaining. So really all I got to see was the first 15 minutes and the last 7 minutes so what happend to about 65 minutes of the show? I tried to startover again but still the same thing.. There was no power outage during this time.

I have had one experience like this and it was due to very bad weather causing the signal from the satellite to drop too low for the 921. In that case it stops recording until the signal comes back up. In my case I was recording a pay-per-view movie and Dish was willing to remove the charge from my next bill.

I guess the same thing could happen if you tape OTA and the signal gets weak.

Does the 921 do a daily reboot and if so when does this happen? SNL is on from 11:30PM to 1:00AM could it be that the unit did a reboot while recording?

I had about the same thing to happen with an HDNET recording. I my case you can watch the entire show, but if you try to FF, REW or any other trick play functions it will jump back to the start.
The trick was to not use any trick play functions.

The 921 will only do the nightly reboot if it in standby mode, and there are no timers currently recording or set to record within the timeframe of the reboot. It tries several times during the overnight period.
