I am seeing pretty bad MPEG compression artifacts on Channel 725 (GERTV) - on E-9 121 TP23. My signals are fine - it's definitely compression artifacts.
So here is my question:
From researching online I figured out that the channel is sent across the Atlantic on PAS-9 - at 4Mbit/s - which should look a lot better - I don't have a BUD to check :eek2: .
I suspect that E* compresses this down to a lower bitrate and introduces additional artifacts. Can I find out anywhere what the bitrate on E* is - and are there any 'inside' contacts besides regular Customer Care that I can try to request 'no compression' on the rebroadcast
I figure I have to give it a try - even if my chances will be slim...
