View Full Version : 522 Live TV Pause Problem

I have a 522 Dish system that was installed earlier this week (converted from being a DTV customer for 8+ years, but could only get my locals through Dish).
Anyway, last night I paused a live program for approx. 10 minutes. When I restarted the program, it was terrible - lots of audio dropouts, audio would get really quiet, picture "blockiness", etc. I know the feed was OK because switching back to Live TV, and the picture was fine.
I understand that the 522 still has a lot of software glitches, but if this is going to happen everytime I pause Live TV, its pretty useless...other stuff I set to record did appear to record just fine though...
Anyone got a recommended fix for this? Looking at the menus, I do believe the unit already has the most recent software update (2.07 ?)
Thanks.

try rebooting, hold power bitton down till lights recycle.
You better get used to stuff like this, for Dish equiptment its normal behavior.....

I had similar problems when i first got the 522 2 months ago. With several software updates most of the problems went away. Works fine now.

its most likely the box itself and not the service. but sometimes watching live tv, the pic looks like its skipping (like everything is a tad faster than live)and audio is normal so the pic and sound dont matchup. During playbacks the pic will freeze for 30 sec, then normal for 30, then freeze for 30...this will continue for about 3 -5 minutes. Then everything is fine the rest of the way....just frustrating.

I had to punch in the 30 second skip a couple times. Just night and day from my DISH DVRs. :) :) :)
