Yesterday I got two yellow cards for my two 721s. When I put them in today everything went fine EXCEPT that on one of the units my password was deleted resulting in NO LOCKS on the system.

I don't know why this happened but I suggest that all upgraders add a double check to their install process.

If you think that's bad, I lost some of my scheduled recordings! I had some timers ready to fire, and for the first day nothing recorded. Dish advised that I should reset all the timers! I have 36 timers set, come on E* get with it!

Nah. Sci-fi, house fixing reality shows (they're gettin old tho), cars, misc. HIST, DISC, TLC, and a few guilty pleasures like sitcoms.

See just like I thought. Echostar is busy trying to replace there screw up with yellow cards and poor us are suffering with lost timers, lost recordings, and many more problems. I knew this card swap junk would hurt us but who are we to complain.

Received my new smart cards for my 2 receivers and it took less than 5 minutes to authorize them from the number they gave me on the sheet and I lost none of my recordings on either 721. I have a lot of porn recorded on my master bedroom 721 from 3 months ago when I took etc clips channel , so I would have been pissed if I lost those.:sure:

Did they give a free preview of porn channels and not advertise it? Damn it. I must have missed it. :mad:

Nope It wasn't free . I took the actual etc clips channel for like a week and recorded all the new porn I could fit in. I then turned the channel off via Dishnetwork which cost me a $10.00 downgrade fee. In all it cost me like the full price of the $22.00 monthly charge because of the downgrade fee. But this is the way I can get about 30 hours full of porn that last me about 6 months. Cheaper than subscribing every month. :sure:

Got our new 721 card two weeks ago. Opened it, replaced it, called the number and around 15 minutes later the unit operated just as before.

Anyone know what units might be next?

And does the new card expand future capabilities of the receivers or is this really an anti-theft protection measure on DISH's part?

I think it's just for anti-theft protection. One thing different about the card I got for my 721...it's marked "For models 721 and 921 only". I have no idea what the difference (if any) is. The yellow card in my 921 is not marked like this, nor is the one in my 501. :confused: :confused:
