Had my 921 for a few days now, and after a couple of days of messing with it got everything working as I wanted (OTA channels added, ability to switch from the DLP tv in the living room to the SD tv in the bedroom by hitting the HD/SD button). All was working well, until last night when I switched to SD. Just like the day I first hooked it up, I had no signal to the SD tv in the bedroom. Switched back to HD, and now nothing on either TV. Pulled the card and unplugged the 921 a couple of times, and got everything back to normal. All was fine today, until I switched back to SD. This time, I've got sound, but no picture in the bedroom. Switched back to HD, and again lost everything. Got the 921 rebooting again to hopefully fix it. Am I setting something wrong? Do I need to set the Display settings in Hd and set them again in SD? I have them set to 720p and 4X3:1, which seems to offer the best overall result (at least when it works). I really want to throw this thing up against the wall, as it only seems to malfunction when I'm about to go to bed or when I really want to watch something.

I don't think your problem is a software one...it's time to call tech support and talk to the 921 team about this one.

If you have your output to HD 1080 or 720 your Sd TV won't recognize the signal.I Have brought this up as a feature request last Jan as possible automatic switching capability.Try settings to 480I and then see what happens.May help?

I have a similar issue, not quite as bad though. I watch SD through the s-video and HD through the DVI. I set the HD resolution to 1080i. I know that when both outputs are active at the same time the HD resolution defaults at 480p. OK, so when I switch to SD the 921 defaults to 480i for the SD output, when I switch to HD the receiver goes to my previous setting of 1080i for HD resolution, all is good. However over night when the 921 does what it does, it sets my HD resolution to 480p for some reason. So the first time I switch to the HD outputs for the day, I have to go in the menu and change it back to 1080i. It will remember that setting for the rest of the day (or for several hrs anyway), but the next day I have to do it again. I have to keep my Dish remote on hand for this because my universal won't allow menu access, so my 1 remote just turned back into 2. Why does it do that?

Poor software design is why.

If you leave the 921 in SD mode when it does its nightly reboot the HD output setting changes to 480p. When you turn it off at night if you leave it in HD it wont change.

And for anybody wondering, yes it actually any reboot.

DavidK, my issue seems very similar to yours. My HD setting is 720p, and my SD is 480i. This seems to be fine, except for those times the 921 says "screw your settings, I'm in charge here" and changes everything to 480p or something else that my TV won't read. I think shutting it down in SD mode may be the culprit. Last night I made sure to turn the 921 off before I dozed off (was watching SD in bedroom), and this morning is when my problem reoccurred.
