Is there any chance that Dish will pick up Universal HD now that they changing their programming format?

There is as good a chance for this channel as there is for any other HD channel that is out there. But even with additions that came with changing from BravoHD+ to Uni-HD, the channel still has mostly just repeats of old TV shows, and 2nd rate movies.
In Charlie's mind, that means it an equivalent to TNT-HD, which already is carried by Dish. Hence he'll consider it a duplication of programming.
i'm just waiting for the day John brings us the good news of uplink activity, but it probably wont happen :( :(

Yeah, but I thought they were all buddy buddy with Universal. There was originally going to be an E* only channel (which was announced 2 years ago but never came to fruition). Also E* announced their music video channel last week that they are releasing only on E*. With D* being in bed with Fox, it makes sense for Universal to pick the "other" guy to partner with.

I think that changes are better than average for Universal-HD to be added. First, on a Charlie Chat, Mr Ergen said that Bravo had interesting content. Second, Dish is indeed in talks with Universal to develop a new music video channel. It might take several months, but I'd be surprised if this was not on Dish's short list of HD channels. Also I would be surprised if Dish were to add ESPN-2HD without adding a non-sports channel like Universal-HD.

Another question, why wasn't Dish pick up PBS-HD?
Thanks for the inputs !!!
Well because they already carry pbs-u as their public interest channel, Dish would have to pay a lot of money in rights fees to carry it. Also I doubt PBS would ever allow national carriage of the HD channel, because the local stations have spent a lot of money providing the HD feed, so people should be watching them. Now I can understand if you don't have a local PBS-HD, but you got to look at the whole picture.
