I just learned that WPBA Channel 30 is now broadcasting HD. Looks like its been up for a little while, so you other Atlanta yokels probably already knew. One problem I noticed is that they seem to be simply retransmitting the national PBS feed and the Directv guide on the HD Tivo doesn't match. That makes it kinda hard to know when something good is coming on. Definitely eliminates the possibility of using the TIVO features.
Has anyone figured out a workaround for the guide?

Stunning picture and sound, and they seem to have worked out the drop-outs and overscan/underscan glitches.
Manual timers is the only way to go now. I think I saw on the AHDTV (atlanta hdtv) group that they will start doing as other PBS stations have. During the day they will multi-cast programs. During primetime, they will multicast the PBS-HD national feed, and the analog upconverted version (or similar)

I agree about the picture. Much better, I think than any HD coming from the satellite. I was disappointed because I was hoping to TIVO the Eric Clapton Great Performances being broadcast locally in HD tonight. However, it looks like it will only happen on the SD channel. The National HD broadcast was last week. Man! If I could only set up a wish list! I guess this falls into the Good News/Bad News category.
More proof that you can't have everything.

I sent an email to the station asking about their plans and got this reply:
"Although you are viewing our digital signal we are still in the testing stages. As of right now, the plan is to broadcast a different digital schedule from our analog broadcast schedule."
The following website has the schedule for the PBS national feed
