Do I need a switch?

I have DirecTV with a single receiver, dual LNB dish with one cable drop. I want to add another receiver.

I have to drop another line, do I need a switch or run the second receiver direct from the second drop?

Cable TV was so much easier.....

You don't need a switch to add a 2nd receiver to a dual LNB. That's what the 2nd port is for. Just run a new drop to the new box. Simple.

Multiswitches are required when you want more than 2 rcrvs on a dual LNB or more than one satellite on a rcvr.
