Notice they said the" near future."
Notice also that the nameless dish rep said current rates are guaranteed through January with no change anticipated. Well hello, we already knew that the price was guaranteed through January 2005 . They have been advertising that for the last 2 years on the top 60 . February is the month that Dish hikes prices.
I fully expect somekind of price hike or repackaging of the existing programming packs . They did have that little Viacom mess earlier last spring, after the last price hike, that brought us the Nicktoons channel, only after Dish jerked all the viacom and CBS channels. They will most likely make us pay for that little squabble this year with the new price hike , at least on the top 60 , which hasn't moved for 2 years. Then of course , AEP will go up too.
Then if Dish goes up then I expect a similiar pricehike from Directv in March when they always go up. I would love to be wrong about this but history for the last 3 years has shown us that I am not. I can remember when AEP was only 69.99. Now it is around 77.99 a month and growing every year. The new channels we have got sure haven't made up for the price hikes. How about finishing up the Cinemax tier of channels? I wouldn't mind so much if I could see something for my money.
