Does anyone know if I can get more sports coverage than whats included with the 180 package?I would like to get other regions like the west coast. When I was a Dish customer in 2000, I had east and west feeds of all major networks and now they say no. I WOULD LIKE TO GET MORE SPORTS AND AM WILLING TO PAY but it seems more laws prevent us from enjoying the sat. like I once did .Comments?

If you want more major league sports, the answer is probably no. Unless you are in another team's area but outside the RSN's home area (not many places like this) then you can get that team's games when you get the sports pack. Basically you are looking at SOME (not many) college sports and the odd sport here and there.

If you are looking for major league sports, then you might want to consider the "season pass" packages. Dish has MLS, MLB, NHL (not that it matters this year), NBA. If you want most college sports, then ESPN's package are what you might consider. None of these are very cheap though.

See ya

Thanks, I may not get my yankees with the MLB package(Blacked out). I may have made a mistake getting the dish back.

Does anyone else pay for this extra programing and if so,why? How much will the MLB package set me back?

If I am not mistaken, you are in Yankees' territory. As a matter of fact, I also believe you are in YES territory.

If you have Dish Network, like I suspect, there is no way for you to get the Yankees games. The issue is that Dish Network does not have a carriage agreement with YES. The MLB Extra Innings package is for out-of-market teams, and would not get you any extra Yankees games.

If you went with DirecTV, you'd have YES, and your Yankees games. When I was a Dish customer in 2000, I had east and west feeds of all major networks and now they say no. I WOULD LIKE TO GET MORE SPORTS AND AM WILLING TO PAY but it seems more laws prevent us from enjoying the sat. like I once did .Comments? This had nothing to do with more laws. Both Dish Network and DirecTV were only too happy to break laws to provide distant networks. Both companies have been taken to court to stop the practice.

Hey there neighbor.
DirecTV's main core satellite is at the 101W spot. I believe that YES is on that satellite.
