Combing issues with my D-Tivo

My SD D-Tivo has combing issues on any quick movement accross the screen. From what I have been reading it appears that combing happens with straight lines from side to side but what I see is straight lines from top to bottem.

Not quite sure what you are talking about but you might want to switch cables as the one you are using might be bad. And if you are using S-Video and that doens't fix it, try the good old RCA composites, prehaps you have a bad S-video connection on your TV (or Tivo).

Poor performance on quick movements sounds like compression woes to me. Nothing you can do about that. A lot of people complain about it.

It could be the TV itself. Try another receiver on it.

Then I'd say return it for a new one and don't bother with figuring it out anymore (assuming you have a warranty or something).

Just s-video into the tv

And have you tried a new S-video cable and/or use the RCA connections instead? You need to really troubleshoot this down to every little thing if you want to figure it out.

I have tried two different s-video cables on two different displays. It is really noticeable on Lost. I am going to record this show on my HD-Tivo and see how it looks on there.
